Celtic head into the clash as newly crowned Scottish Premiership champions after securing their 55th league title with a commanding 5-0 win at Tannadice last weekend. With a Scottish Cup Final still to come, Rodgers has urged his side to maintain their standards and use this derby as a key step in preparation for Hampden.

All eyes were on the team sheet ahead of kick-off, with fans keen to see how Celtic would line up following Jota’s long-term injury absence and Alistair Johnston’s continued management ahead of the cup final. There was also interest in whether Adam Idah would be handed a start, having come off the bench last weekend and impressed in the central role.

Rodgers has already insisted the fixture is far from a dead rubber despite the title being wrapped up.

The derby comes against the backdrop of Rangers’ internal upheaval, with the Ibrox club winless in five and facing an uncertain summer amid takeover talk. Celtic, by contrast, are chasing a sixth domestic Treble in nine years, and will be looking to lay down another marker against their rivals.
