Confirmed: Celtic Sign Cameron Carter-Vickers Minutes from Deadline

Celtic have completed a deadline day move for defender Cameron Carter-Vickers after the deal looked dead in the water this afternoon.

The Hoops have got the Spurs defender on loan for the season right before the deadline after the London club came back to the table an hour before the deadline.

According to Sky Sports journalist, Anthony Joseph, Celtic wanted to sign the American on loan last month but Spurs weren’t keen on the deal.

Celtic then tried again early on deadline day to see if things had changed but they were again rebuffed because Tottenham wanted to sell the player on a permanent basis.

When the trail ran cold on a permanent deal happening, Spurs got in touch with Celtic to give the green light for a loan deal.

Celtic needed cover at the back and getting this deal over the line – pending a medical is a good piece of business.

Contrary to social media reports, Cameron’s deal isn’t up next summer and he’ll have a year left on his Tottenham deal at the end of this season.

Celtic will have an option to buy!
