Celtic has officially secured the services of Alex Valle on a season-long loan from Barcelona.
Valle is the first new outfield player to join Celtic this season who wasn’t already part of the club’s setup last year, following the permanent transfers of previously loaned players Adam Idah and Paulo Bernardo.

The left-back position has been a noted area for reinforcement at Celtic, particularly after the loan departure of Alexandro Bernabei to Internacional in Brazil earlier this year. Valle’s arrival is expected to inject new energy into this vital role. Last season, Valle gained substantial experience with Levante in Spain’s second division, appearing in 30 matches, and he also participated in Barcelona’s pre-season activities.
Celtic has taken on the full financial responsibility for Valle’s wages during his time in Glasgow.
Although he will compete with Greg Taylor for the starting left-back position, Valle might need to wait for his first start in the first team, considering the upcoming fixtures against Rangers, Hearts, and the Champions League opener.
Hopefully, this is the first of a few incomings before the window shuts on Friday.
