Confirmed – Celtic Flop Set for Parkhead Return

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has a sizeable squad at his disposal and it will get even bigger come the beginning of summer when a number of his players get back from loan spells.

And one of those assets who will be making their way back to Celtic in a few weeks is Albian Ajeti.

The Swiss went out on loan to Sturm Graz in Austria at the beginning of the season but in 23 appearances, has scored just four goals.

Now, the club’s Sporting Director has confirmed Ajeti will make his way back to Parkhead this summer. Andreas Schicker said (Football Scotland):

“The option to buy Albian Ajeti will not be exercised.

“Albi did quite well this season and it was important that we had the option to buy. But we were aware that everything had to fit.

“Unfortunately, he didn’t get into the right rhythm to remain injury-free for several weeks in a row.

“You could see his quality in individual games. In the end, however, we decided that we would not take his purchase option.”

Ravaged by injury, it wasn’t the greatest season for Ajeti.

He will now come back to Celtic where he still has a year left on his deal. It remains to be seen where his future lies although one imagines it will be away from Glasgow.
