Confirmed: CCV’s Season is Over After Colossal Celtic Performance

Celtic’s 1-0 win over Rangers in the Scottish Cup this afternoon was full of positives however after the game, Hoops fans were given an update from Ange Postecoglou they wouldn’t have wanted.

Post match, the Australian confirmed that Cameron Carter-Vickers will now be out for the rest of the season:

This is obviously a significant blow for the Hoops because today, the big centre half excelled.

He was man of the match for a reason with his defending sticking out and keeping the opposition at bay.

There shouldn’t be that much worry, though, as Yuki Kobayashi can be a more than sufficient stand in for Carter-Vickers.

The Japanese has made a few appearances for Celtic thus far and has caught the eye, remaining stout at the back and pinging the ball about well.

Moreover, Kobayashi will get the chance to prove his worth in some massive games such as the next Glasgow derby at Ibrox and the Scottish Cup final in June where the Hoops will be looking to wrap up the treble.
