Celtic take on La Liga outfit Athletic Club on Tuesday evening in their final pre-season clash. League action is not far away from starting up again with this match providing ideal preparation.
Although a testimonial for club legend James Forrest, Brendan Rodgers will use the game as a chance to once more build up his players’ sharpness and fitness levels against respectable opposition. The Hoops have a strong squad available and it has been confirmed four of the club’s five summer signings are available to contribute.
Odin Thiago Holm, Yang Hyun-jun, Kwon Hyeok-kyu and Maik Nawrocki are all in the squad and could make their Celtic Park bows in the match. They will be welcomed with open arms by the supporters as they look to stake their claim for a place in the starting lineup for Saturday’s game.
