After a tumultuous tenure in the Hoops, Albian Ajeti has found a new club in Turkey.

The Swiss striker has inked a deal with Turkish outfit Gaziantep, signing for a year with an option to extend for another. The move hopes to bring a fresh chapter for Ajeti, who struggled to find his footing at Celtic.

Acquired by former manager Neil Lennon for a significant ÂŁ5 million from Premier League side West Ham, expectations were high for the forward. However, his journey at the club was marred by inconsistencies and a failure to justify the price tag.
Even with a managerial change, Ange Postecoglou’s attempt to rejuvenate Ajeti’s career at Celtic did not bear fruit. The striker’s struggles became emblematic of a player unable to adapt to the pressures and demands of wearing the green and white.
The 2022-2023 season saw Ajeti being loaned out to Austrian club Sturm Graz, with him not getting anywhere near the Celtic squad.
A telling statistic paints a stark picture: Ajeti’s transfer fee equated to a staggering ÂŁ500,000 per goal scored at Celtic.
As the Swiss striker embarks on his new adventure, Celtic closes a chapter that was more bitter than sweet.
