Confirmed – £2.85m Celtic Flop Out For Rest of the Season

It seems like a life time ago but it was less than two years ago Charly Musonda rocked up to Celtic Park from Chelsea vowing to set the world alight.

The player signed on an 18-month loan deal from Stamford Bridge and there was high hopes he could do the business and be the creating winger we needed under Brendan Rodgers. The players loan deal alone cost the club cost £2.85m (Transfermarkt) never mind wages.

In all – the Belgian made eight appearances for the club before heading back to London where it was agreed his deal would be cut short after just six-months.

The attacking midfielder is now on his second loan year at Vitesse and it looks like bad luck has struck the player with the club confirming the player could miss the rest of the season.

The club were not specific about the injury but wrote ‘He is not even expected back this season by the technical staff.’

We wish Charly all the best in his recovery – the good news for him is he’s still only 22 and can rebound from a bad injury.
