Club Insiders Lining Up Rodgers Replacement Claims Former Celtic Star

CHARLIE NICHOLAS has tried to unsettle Hibs boss Neil Lennon ahead of Celtic’s crunch tie with the Edinburgh side this weekend according to The Scotsman.

The former Celtic striker and Sky Sports mouthpiece has spoken about life after Brendan Rodgers and who may be in line to take the Celtic job when the Parkhead manager walks off into the sunset.

According to reports Nicholas has said there are ‘bosses’ at Celtic Park who are eyeing Neil Lennon for a return to the role once Rodgers departs.

“There are some inside Parkhead who see Neil Lennon as a live candidate to replace Brendan Rodgers when the time comes for him to move on.

“I can’t see it happening. But that doesn’t mean I don’t have huge admiration for Lennon as a boss. I love the way he wears his heart on his sleeve and demands the same from his players. Celtic have been warned.”

Nicholas is not a favourite among the Celtic support after his time away fro mthe club and in punditry has seen him be hypercritical of the club the past six or seven years.

The fact that Charlie is even talking about what’s going to happen once Rodgers leaves will be a point of contention for the Celtic support.

The Sky Sports pundit has kept up rhetoric in recent weeks of Rodgers wanting to leave his role as Celtic boss sooner rather than later.
