Christopher Jullien Update

ANGE POSTECOGLOU has confirmed that Chris Jullien is back in training with the team but is not yet ready to return to the starting XI.

The French defender slammed his knee against the post in Celtic’s 3-0 win over Dundee United last season but hasn’t kicked a ball since.

After returning to training with the squad earlier this month Ange has been pleased with him but has admitted he is not quite there yet while reminding fans awaiting his return that he has not played football for just under a year.

“He’s training.” Ange told CelticTV.

“He’s got back into the team training but he has missed a hell of a lot of football and for us it is a bit difficult when we can’t get him game time to just throw him into a fixture so we will take our time with him.”

When the manager and his medical team it is time for the towering Frenchman to make his return Ange will face another problem – who drops out the team.

Starfelt and Carter-Vickers are Postecoglou’s preferred pairing just now and it would be harsh to drop one of them. Jullien will have to return to peak form to be in contention for a place, however, after missing so much this could take him a while.
