CHRIS SUTTON has delivered his verdict on the Celtic vs Preston game and took some positives from the performance even though Celtic fell to a 1-0 defeat on the day.
It was a very young squad that took on Preston but the Celtic team does look threadbare ahead of a vital Champions League tie.
Sutton highlighted some of the good performers on the day. Young Montgomery got a mention while McGregor and Turnball got the plaudits in the middle of the park.
Liel Abada also got a mention for his second-half appearance – making his debut at Celtic Park.
Bright points for Celtic Montgomery looked good first half. McGregor excellent as was Turnbull. Abada looks like he could be a handful. Need Edouard Tuesday. So much work to do for Ange.

Celtic have so much to work on and are very behind where they would like to be at this point in pre-season. Having Champions League qualifiers so early is never ideal but we do this every year and we’ve again failed to prepare.
It will be a minor miracle if Celtic manage to get through to the third qualifying round. All eyes are on Ange Postecoglou and who he picks for his first competitive starting XI.
