Chris Sutton has said the officials didn’t cover themselves in glory this afternoon at Easter Road after Celtic were denied two penalties in the second half.
The bhoys dropped two points in Edinburgh after a frustrating afternoon where football wasn’t the winner.
A poor, scrappy game where Hibs offered very little but managed to come away with a draw. A freak own goal and some questionable decisions from the referee compounding a frustrating 90 minutes.
Sutton who was commentating for BT Sports during the game said both penalty calls should have been given.
.@btsportfootball Hibs 1-1 Celtic… huge point for Paul Heckingbottom… talk of him being sacked ridiculous… another afternoon where the officials didn’t cover themselves in glory⚽️

Celtic looked flat at times but did enough in the game to deserve all three points and Hibs can count themselves lucky. Apart from the own goal they didn’t really look like scoring and had either penalty been rightly given and converted then it would’ve been game over.
Neil Lennon was pragmatic after the game and knows the can’t win every game this season – just an annoying afternoon.
