CHRIS SUTTON has echoed the sentiments of all Celtic supporters today after a ludicrous headline appeared on the Daily Record site suggested the Ibrox club has won because fans were ‘smiling’ again.

The BT pundit was quick to point out what really counts when it comes to football and that’s winning trophies.

The Ibrox fans and players were adamant at the start of the season they would be among the trophies but it turns out all they needed to do was smile and everything would be ok.

The levels of this headline are actually quite brilliant, the suggestion gets fans are smiling even after they watched Celtic pick up a treble treble is very tinpot.

Celtic are in a period of unprecedented success but their Glasgow rivals are happy.

Chris Sutton is always one to point out nonsense when he sees it and this is most certainly a headline that was never worth writing.
