Chris Sutton Has Had Enough of ‘Excuses’ – Tears Into Celtic’s Rivals

CHRIS SUTTON has not held back in his assessment of Neil Lennon’s counterpart across the city when he was asked about the job being done in Govan.

Since the Liverpool legend took up the role to stop Celtic’s relentless trophy charge, there have been six opportunities for them to do so but they have failed every time!

Sutton believes that trophies are the only thing that counts and any manager will be judged on this.

As Celtic enter their potential ten in a row season, the pressure is on for it to be stopped.

“Their fans have a lot of faith in Steven and want to believe is he the man who can take them back to the promised land and stop Celtic, but he has proved nothing so far.” Sutton told TeamTalk.

“He’s not won a trophy for two seasons and now the pressure is on him. Their boss needs to stop coming up with the excuses and deliver and trophies are all that count when you are their manager. . .

“I know they were moaning and groaning about the way the season ended, but they were 13 points behind Celtic and there was no way they were going to make up that ground, so they only had themselves to blame for losing the title.”

Neil Lennon and his men need to be ready for the challenge ahead. There’s going to be a massive effort on every team that plays Celtic to try and stop them doing the ten. We have to be better than ever before and we also have to start the campaign without the support behind us inside the stadium.

It’s going to make for an interesting season.
