Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has expressed his delight over the news that winger Liel Abada will be staying at Celtic for the upcoming season.

Despite not getting many starts last season and rumours of his discontent at the club, Abada has confirmed his commitment to Celtic while away with his side on international duty, much to the relief of fans and pundits alike.
Brendan Rodgers also confirmed that after crunch talks, the winger is wanting to stay at the club.
In his column for the Daily Record, Sutton wrote, “Rodgers revealing Liel Abada wants to stay is a big one as well. It was slightly strange last season how he ended up spending a lot of time on the bench – especially as he matched his numbers from his first season with about half the minutes on the pitch. He could be a big player under Rodgers too.”
Abada’s decision to stay at Celtic comes after a chat with manager Brendan Rodgers, who has recently returned to the club. Despite his limited playing time last season, Abada managed to impress when given the opportunity, particularly in his appearances from the bench.
The 21-year-old winger’s commitment to Celtic is a significant boost for the club, especially considering the potential he has shown in his performances so far in pre-season. With Rodgers at the helm, Abada could play a crucial role in Celtic’s campaign next season.
Sutton’s comments highlight the importance of retaining talented young players like Abada, who can contribute significantly to the team’s success. As Celtic prepare for the new season, the confirmation of Abada’s stay is undoubtedly a positive development for the club.
