Celtic have not been in action since last Saturday, and it is over a week until the Bhoys are back playing. That has given many the opportunity to assess how things have gone so far this season, and that is exactly what Chris Sutton has done.
In his latest RecordSport column, the former Hoops frontman has hemmed in on winger Luis Palma. He believes the Honduran internationalist is Celtic’s Jota replacement, and that he has looked positive so far.
Palma has gone from strength to strength in recent weeks, scoring a couple of goals against Motherwell and Kilmarnock. On him, Sutton said: “Luis Palma also offered a fresh bit of impetus. I found it ridiculous that it took Celtic almost two months to find a Jota replacement, but the Honduran gave some encouraging signs. His goal was outstanding and there was plenty to like about his performance in a creative sense. I loved his clever through ball to Kyogo. It was all invention.”

On the eye, the 23-year-old is a pleasing player. It looks as though he is improving game by game, and that he has nailed down the left-wing spot in the team for himself.
After the international break, Palma will be eager to kick on where he left off. Fixtures against Hearts, Atletico Madrid, and Hibernian within the space of a week will be arduous, but Palma will look to come to the fore in them.
