Chris Sutton Believes Celtic Star Should Have Already Been Shown Parkhead Exit

CHRIS SUTTON has revealed the player who he thinks should have left Celtic this summer after three successful campaigns.

Writing in his RecordSport column after watching Scott Sinclair come off the bench and score for the club against Partick Thistle – the former Celt still believes it would’ve been best for all parties if Sinclair had gone this summer.

“To be honest, it would probably have been best for both parties if he’d left in the summer.

“Let’s face it. He’s down to fourth choice at Celtic behind Mohamed Elyounoussi, Mikey Johnston and Lewis Morgan.

“It’s a heck of a fall for a player who was Scotland’s Player of the Year three seasons ago.“For whatever reason he’s drifted. Players lose confidence, it happens to most at times, but the only way to recapture it is by playing your way back in training and in matches.”

Sinclair came on as a second half sub during the 1-1 result at Easter Road on Saturday and he might just be coming back into Neil Lennon’s thinking.

We will find out in the coming weeks if Scotty has done his best to earn a full time space in the matchday squad whether that be on the field or on the bench.

Celtic did trigger Scott’s transfer clause this summer to enable the club to keep him for another season and while he’s here and earning good money he should be utilised.

People forget on his day the midfielder is a great asset.
