CELTIC TARGET Cho Gue-sung has confirmed that he and the club are locked in negotiations over a potential move to the Scottish champions this January.

A deal won’t be straightforward to agree on between Celtic and the striker’s club Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors. The Korean side are playing hardball and have responded to the Hoops’ bid that they aren’t willing to sell the player until at least the summer.
Cho Gue-sung commented on Celtic’s links, referring to the strong bond that’s been established with Japan and the wider continent while he confirmed talks had taken place.
He said: [Football Scotland]
“Celtic have six Japanese players in its squad. As you can see there, it is a team that has invested heavily in the Asian market over the past few years and there have been talks.”
Celtic are looking to replace Giakoumakis, who could well be heading for the exit door this window, with negotiations over a new contract breaking down over the past few weeks.
But whether the Greek striker departs or not, it’s likely that Celtic will move to bring in a striker this January, with options a bit light up top.
