Chelsea Hand Celtic Unlikely Euro Boost

CHELSEA have handed Celtic an unlikely Euro Boost by calling time on Michy Batshuayi Valencia loan deal halfway through the season.

The Belgian striker was supposed to stay at the Mastella until the end of the season but reports in today’s SunSport say both clubs have come to terms with an agreement to end the players current deal when the January window re-opens.

Chelsea has received interest in their £35million striker and are keen to move him on permanently in the winter window.

While the striker has not set the world alight for Valencia, to have the player to call upon in their doubleheader with Celtic was a significant advantage for the Spanish club.

However, when February rolls around the Muchy is likely to be playing his football a very long way from Spain.

Celtic go into the January window needing to strengthen to help cope with the Spaniards who present a very tough challenge for Brendan Rodgers in the last 32 of the Europa League.

If Celtic have a positive window, who knows what could happen.
