Championship Full-Back Potentially on Hoops Radar?

Celtic have been credited with an interest in Hull City left-back Stephen Kingsley, should Kieran Tierney depart to Arsenal before the English transfer window slams shut on Wednesday night.

The Tigers are reportedly willing to listen to offers for the 25 year-old according to website Football Scotland. The one-time Scotland capped defender could represent an intelligent investment for the champions; as the Yorkshire club are willing to offload Kingsley for a relatively modest fee.

Ideally everyone at Celtic would rather this scenario be avoidable, however the Falkirk youth product could well be part of supposed ‘contingency plans’ in place if star player Tierney indeed departs.

The Stirling-born defender boasts a decent footballing CV; with spells at Falkirk, Swansea, Yeovil, Crewe and current club Hull. The Scot would be a viable option to compete with Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo for a place in the Celtic starting XI.

Season 2018-19 yielded 27 appearances for the Hull number 23 helping his side to a 13th placed finish. Kingsley is yet to add to his solitary Scotland bow away to France in a 3-0 defeat in 2016. Could Celtic be the environment where he reignites his career and realises his potential?
