It is shaped by technology as the Bhoys will play eight different teams from across Europe, four at home, and four away.

The games run from September until January of next year as a massive 36-team league table forms.

Brendan Rodgers aims to finish in the top 24 and make it to at least the last 16 play-offs.

His aim isn’t entirely unrealistic, but who Celtic draw and what they do in the remainder of the transfer market could shape their fate.

This evening’s hotly anticipated draw begins at 5 pm UK time. As ever, though, with UEFA’s traditional formalities, things might not get fully underway until a while after that.

Fans can watch the draw for free live on the BBC Sport Website. Alternatively, it is being shown on TNT Sports 1.

Celtic will face two sides from each pot.

Pot one consists of several top clubs including Man City, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, PSG, Liverpool, Inter, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, and Barcelona.

In pot two, there are a few more big teams such as Bayer Leverkusen, Atletico Madrid, Atalanta, Juventus, Benfica, Arsenal, Club Brugge, Shakhtar Donetsk, and AC Milan.

Celtic are in pot three alongside Feyenoord, Sporting CP, PSV, Dinamo Zagreb, RB Salzburg, Lille, Red Star Belgrade, and Young Boys.

Finally, pot four consists of Slovan Bratislava, AS Monaco, Sparta Prague, Aston Villa, Bologna, Girona, Stuttgart, Sturm Graz, and Stade Brestois.

There is the potential for some favourable ties for the Scottish champions but equally, they could be handed a nightmare draw.

Excitement is building as the Bhoys gear up for another European campaign.
