It’s bad news for travelling Celtic fans on their return to the Champions League.
After the draw was made on Thursday, all the talk has surrounded the double header against current European champions Real Madrid. The Spanish giants coming to Glasgow is massive, but the away day in Madrid will also be special.
Unfortunately, it was revealed on Friday evening that Celtic fans would receive a reduced allocation for the game at the Bernabeu due to the ongoing construction of the iconic stadium.
Most away fans coming to Madrid in the Champions League would usually receive around 3,500 tickets. Celtic has confirmed that the support will only be allocated 1,800 tickets for the away game.
The club putting the communication out as quickly as possible so fans don’t get their hopes up.
Celtic fans will still travel in big numbers for the tie despite the lack of tickets.
For the lucky 1,800, they will be in attendance at the first meeting of the two teams since the 80s!
It’s disappointing we won’t have a full away section, but hopefully, we’ll still make enough noise.
