Celtic supporters are eagerly awaiting the beginning of the 2023/24 Champions League campaign. The draw for the group stage was made last Thursday, and it was one the champions should have been relatively pleased with.
Feyenoord, Atletico Madrid, and Lazio make for intriguing opponents in Group E, and ahead of the start of the Champions League, the tournament’s official Twitter account posted an iconic picture. This picture was posted on its own, without a caption. It was rather interesting to see the Champions League’s official Twitter do this, but it was only positive for Celtic that it was shared to an account with a colossal audience of 50 million followers.
The photo is simply iconic and a reminder of Celtic’s incredible achievements in the 1966/67 season. During that campaign, the Hoops won five trophies, including the European Cup, with a team that was born within 30 miles of Parkhead.

It is certain that nothing of that ilk will be repeated in the history of football again, although the current Celtic team will be eager to create some valuable European memories in the forthcoming season. Brendan Rodgers has the credentials to lead the team to a notable campaign on the continent, and here’s hoping he can do just that.
