The young left-back had been on loan at Celtic from Barcelona, but the deal was cut short earlier this month, allowing Valle to make the switch to Italy for the remainder of the season.

Fabregas, who is now head coach at Como, spoke highly of Valle’s development at both Barcelona and Celtic, believing his time at Parkhead has helped shape him as a player.

Speaking to Como FC’s official website, Fabregas highlighted the value of Valle’s brief spell in Scotland, despite him not making many appearances for the Hoops.

“Alex is a talented young defender with a solid foundation from his time at Barcelona and valuable experience gained during his loan at Celtic. His ability to contribute both defensively and offensively will be a great asset to our team.”

Valle arrived at Celtic Park last summer, but with limited first-team opportunities, Barcelona, with Celtic’s permission, recalled him in January before sending him straight to Como in Serie A.

Celtic had hoped to utilise Valle as a left-back option, but with Greg Taylor the established starter and Brendan Rodgers pushing for Kieran Tierney’s return, the youngster found himself surplus to requirements.

With Tierney’s early return blocked by Arsenal, Celtic have been looking at alternative options before the transfer window closes. The club had been linked with Tyrell Malacia, but the Dutch defender’s future remains uncertain after his move to Benfica collapsed.
