Como boss Cesc Fàbregas has provided an update on a potential Alex Vallé loan move to the Serie A side, should Kieran Tierney join the Hoops before the transfer window closes.
With a Tierney return meaning that Celtic would have Greg Taylor, Vallé, and the Arsenal defender as options at left-back, it would see the Spanish defender’s loan spell from Barcelona end early.

Fabrizio Romano previously reported the story 10 days ago, but there hasn’t been any movement or announcement of a Kieran Tierney pre-contract agreement. With Greg Taylor’s own Celtic deal set to expire in the summer, each player’s future hinges on a potential Tierney return.
Valle has been unable to displace Taylor in the Celtic starting XI this season. However, as Wednesday night showed, when things aren’t working out for Taylor, the Spanish left-back can be brought on to change the game.
With Valle coming on in the 69th minute against Young Boys, he demonstrated the different approach he brings to Taylor. In a more traditional left-back role, Valle looks to overlap more often than the Scottish defender, who favours inverting into midfield. Valle’s pace certainly caused Young Boys problems in a different way.
Fàbregas is said to be a huge fan of Valle, and despite having to play a waiting game for his signature, he appears calm.
He said: (Scottish Sun), “Until we are sure we can’t say anything. Things can get complicated.”
With Fàbregas having close ties to both Arsenal and Barcelona, having played for both clubs for a combined total of 17 years, he will have insider knowledge from each team regarding the progress of Kieran Tierney’s potential return to Celtic and the situation surrounding Valle’s early cancellation of his loan at Parkhead which could set in motion a move to Italy.
For the time being, Valle remains a Celtic player until the end of the season. However, there is a likelihood that he may move to Como over the next 9 days.
