Celtic’s Unsung Glasgow Derby Hero

Much of the praise from yesterday’s 4-0 victory will rightly be given to Celtic’s attacking players but Cameron Carter-Vickers once again deserves a big mention.

There was nonsense spouted that Celtic didn’t strengthen in the summer window but simply ‘re-signed’ players such as Carter-Vickers and Jota.

Both players have taken their games to another level this season and will be huge players once again this season as Celtic get set for their return to the Champions League this week.

So far this season, Carter-Vickers has had multiple centre back partners but hasn’t let that effect his game at all.

He snuffed out any danger which Antonio Colak might have posed with the Croatian forward going into the derby game in good form.

So far Celtic have managed five clean sheets in six matches with Carter-Vickers playing an imperative role in the heart of defence.

Much like captain Callum McGregor he has showed incredible consistency in his performances which goes under the radar as Celtic fans just expect these type of performances from the former Spurs man.

He is a cool customer at the back and ever reliable. The 24-year old will be hoping to be selected for the USA World Cup squad in November with him being spotted alongside his international boss last night.
