Happy New Year to all our readers!
2024 was a phenomenal one for Celtic, marked by domestic dominance, scintillating performances, and a relentless quest for silverware under Brendan Rodgers. From record-breaking wins to thrilling European nights, the Hoops delivered entertainment in spades.
Celtic finish the year as the most successful club in Scotland, after lifting three trophies in 2024. The league title and Scottish Cup were lifted by the Bhoys in May, while the League Cup returned to Paradise in December.
As 2025 dawns, let’s take a moment to reflect on the players who lit up the scoresheets and powered Celtic’s incredible year.
1. Daizen Maeda – 21 Goals
If there’s one player who encapsulated Celtic’s energy and determination in 2024, it’s Daizen Maeda. The winger has been nothing short of sensational, contributing to the team in attack, defence, and everything in between.
As good as he’s been, it’s surprising to see that he’s Celtic’s top scorer of the calendar year.
His standout moments include his crucial strike in the League Cup final against Rangers and his coolly converted penalty to secure the trophy.
2. Kyogo Furuhashi – 19 Goals
Kyogo Furuhashi remains a talismanic figure at Celtic Park. The Japanese striker may not have hit the dizzying heights of previous campaigns, but his 19 goals in 2024 underline his importance to the team.
Kyogo’s clinical finishing and intelligent movement continue to torment defences, even when he’s not scoring.
3. Adam Idah – 17 Goals
Adam Idah has proven to be one of Celtic’s most astute loan signings in recent years. After a successful spell, the Republic of Ireland international joined permanently last summer.
While he’s maybe not had the impact that some Celtic fans expected from him, he’s still put in some great numbers.
His Scottish Cup final winner against Rangers remains the highlight of his Celtic career so far.
4. Nicolas Kuhn – 17 Goals
Nicolas Kuhn’s transformation over the past year has been remarkable. He started the year struggling just to turn it around after summer.
After scoring just 3 goals in his first six months at the club, he’s turned things around this season.
