It is fair to say that the current January transfer window has been one of disappointment for Celtic fans. Twenty-eight days in, the club have mustered just one arrival and four outgoings.
Activity hasn’t been at a particularly high rate, which has left many frustrated. Incomings are the usual focus during windows, and Nicolas Kuhn has been the sole player to make his way through the door so far.
It is obvious that numerous positions in the squad are yet to be addressed, but time is ticking. Post-match against Ross County yesterday, Brendan Rodgers’ update wasn’t the most encouraging, and he doesn’t have a lot of time left to change the fate of the current window.

Indeed the January transfer window slams shut this Thursday, February 1st. In Scotland, teams have until 11.30 pm to finalise any signings (RecordSport).
A bit of quick math would tell you that Celtic have just four days left to add to their squad for the remainder of the season. Considering one man has been signed in four weeks let alone days, things aren’t looking the greatest.
The deadline is fast approaching, and there is no doubt that the squad needs to be strengthened. Saturday’s win over Ross County only highlighted the need for new arrivals but whether sufficient action will be taken remains to be seen.
