Celtic’s Statement of Intent – Reports Look Positive

Celtic look like they’re FINALLY closing in on the signature of Albian Ajeti and if you’re to believe RecordSport’s information, he’s signing on a permanent deal.

There was much talk of a loan deal with an option to buy next summer but if Celtic go all out and deliver a striker for £5m+ it’s a huge statement of intent.

Before we get the eternal whingers telling us the deal isn’t right or we’re paying over the odds for a West Ham flop – let it be known this is a striker who was prolific for Basel before his move to London.

During Ajeti’s time at West Ham, he made 10 appearances and got very little opportunity to get going. Celtic bringing the striker in, with Neil Lennon having the desire to find a reliable partner for Edouard up top in a 3-5-2 scenario should be viewed as a significant statement of intent.

We’re going off the RecordSport report at the moment but a permanent deal emerging would explain why the deal has taken so long.
