The Hoops will be looking to harness the energy of a packed Paradise to pull off a famous European upset.

With key players fit and available, Brendan Rodgers is expected to field a strong starting XI capable of competing with the German giants.

Predicted Celtic XI:

Goalkeeper:

  • Kasper Schmeichel – After recovering from a minor back injury, the Danish veteran is set to return between the sticks. His big-game experience will be crucial.

Defence:

  • Alistair Johnston – Brings defensive solidity and attacking drive from right-back.
  • Cameron Carter-Vickers – Fit and ready, the defensive leader will relish the challenge of facing Harry Kane, someone he’s crossed paths with at Spurs.
  • Auston Trusty – The American centre-back will have his hands full dealing with Bayern’s potent attack but will look to assert his physical presence.
  • Greg Taylor – A key figure at left-back, tasked with balancing defensive duties while supporting the attack.

Midfield:

  • Arne Engels – Adds steel and energy, key to disrupting Bayern’s midfield rhythm.
  • Callum McGregor – The heartbeat of the team, his leadership and ability to control the tempo will be vital.
  • Reo Hatate – Brings creativity, vision, and the ability to make late runs into the box to support the attack.

Attack:

  • Nicolas Kühn – Offers pace and trickery on the right, capable of unlocking defences with his direct style.
  • Adam Idah – Gets the nod as the central striker, leading the line after finding form in recent weeks. His physical presence will be key to releasing some of the pressure on Celtic.
  • Daizen Maeda – Fresh off winning his appeal, Maeda’s relentless work rate and goal-scoring threat make him a nightmare for defenders.

That does mean, though, that despite his quality, Jota will miss out on the starting XI. Idah can be the man to make himself big and be an outball. He’s also a clinical finisher, too.

Celtic Park has begun to turn into a fortress in recent times, can that continue when Bayern come to town?
