Celtic’s Perfect Timing – Club and Striker Play a Blinder Ahead of Glasgow Derby

The announcement for Leigh Griffiths’ return could not be timed any more perfect ahead of this Sunday’s derby showdown.

The Celtic striker has been out since last year when Brendan Rodgers announced Leigh would be taking a leave of absence from the club to deal with personal matters.

At the time, the Celtic support got behind their century striker and revealed a banner that read ‘It’s ok not to be ok’ – a sentiment shared not only by Celtic fans but by the wider community.

Since then, we’ve not heard a lot from Griff apart from the very few snapshots he has given into his life on social media of him training and declaring he will be back to win more trophies.

Today, that dream got a step closer as Leigh returns to the fold under Neil Lennon. The interim Celtic boss signed the frontman back in his first spell as manager and knows exactly what he can bring to the table.

We are absolutely delighted to have him back and the Celtic fans, players and club as a whole will be lifted this evening as a result of the news!

Welcome back, Leigh!
