After a disappointing defeat in the Glasgow Derby, Celtic and Ange Postecoglou have been given some time to pause and take stock of what has been probably the most hectic time in the manager’s career.
One week, Ange was managing in the J-League, the next he was isolating in a London hotel trying to figure out the path forward for Celtic under extremely challenging circumstances.
All things considered, we’ve had a decent start.
We’re by no means the finished article, but the game at Ibrox was the toss of a coin kind of game. They took their one chance and we didn’t take a couple of ours. This was in stark contrast from the last time these two sides met when we were soundly beaten 4-1.

The derby defeat is done and we’re three points off our Glasgow rivals. It’s what we do next that counts.
So what does come next?
Here are Celtic’s next five games, spanning three competitions:
Ross County (h)
Real Betis (a)
Livingston (a)
Raith (h)
Dundee Utd (h)
Three home games out of five means we should be looking for three wins at all costs. Livingston away is always a difficult game – we must rise to that occasion and shake off the stink of last season.
Real Betis away will give Ange another indication of how far things are coming along. The Europa seems like a free hit in many ways for the Celtic gaffer but we don’t want to be embarrassed like last season.
Raith Rovers at home in the League Cup offers a chance for some players to make a name for themselves if Ange rests some of the bhoys who have been playing most minites.
All in all, we must keep the pressure on and climb the table. Keep winning, keep pushing and see where we are at the turn of the year.
