Celtic’s move for left-back Marcelo Saracchi is set to cost the club just $100,000 for the season, according to reports in South America.
That figure – equivalent to around £86,000 – represents a low-risk commitment from the Parkhead side as Brendan Rodgers finally gets the depth he’s been seeking at left-back.

The 27-year-old Uruguay international is expected to undergo a medical in London before finalising his switch to Glasgow from Boca Juniors.
While no option to buy has been included in the initial loan agreement, the modest fee gives Celtic flexibility while they assess Saracchi’s impact over the campaign.
The former RB Leipzig and Galatasaray defender brings Champions League experience and attacking instincts from deep, qualities Rodgers values highly as he looks to sharpen Celtic’s European competitiveness.
With Greg Taylor having departed earlier in the summer and Hayato Inamura not at the level required, Saracchi will provide an important option alongside Kieran Tierney, especially with a packed fixture schedule ahead.
Given the value of the deal, it’s a smart bit of business from the Celtic hierarchy, who have been under growing pressure to deliver before the transfer window closes next Monday.
Hopefully, he’ll be one of the few names through the door before the window closes next Tuesday.
