Celtic face an injury sweat for our pivotal Thursday night game against Bayer Leverkusen. The bhoys were already short in defence when Stephen Welsh was absolutely clattered by Shaun Rooney during the league Cup semi-final.
The defender couldn’t continue after the incident and Ange had to reshuffle his side.
Starfelt is close to coming back, but we’re not sure if Thursday is too early for the Swede. We know Jullien is not ready to travel and play for the first team as of yet, so he’s out. It leaves us hoping Welsh recovers from the Hampden flashpoint.

If Carl and Stephen don’t make the game on Thursday, Nir Bitton will be pushed back into defence – then we have to hope Tom Rogic is available to start. If not, James McCarthy could come in, and because it’s such a big game, the player’s lack of game time could be a huge issue.
It shows this side is till fragile if we pick up a few injuries, it’s something that needs addressed in January, and at the beginning of the month, not on deadline day.
The club have a real chance to kick on and show what they can do this season, the title is not something outside our remit.
