Celtic’s Major Announcement is Great News for Club

CELTIC have announced today they have put in planning permission to redevelop the dilapidated Barrowfield grounds near Celtic Park.

The club website has confirmed the board are looking to build a ‘first class’ training facility with a FIFA approved pitch. These facilities will be used by the first team squad as well as the women’s football team.

  • A brand new artificial surface.
  • A state of the art gymnasium
  • New Parking and Changing facilities.

Over and above that development the club want to also add

  • A new refreshment and grandstand facilities for spectators.
  • 2 full sized outdoor grass pitches, 2 first class artificial pitches, both outdoor and indoor, aswell as an outdoor warm up area.

This is to compliment the already world class facilities at Lennoxtown and will serve the team well during bad weather conditions.

Barrowfield was used exclusively by the first team until a Tommy Burns led initiative seen the club build at Lennoxtown. The investment in the club’s future is very welcomed!

Celtic have been reinvesting in the are around Celtic Park and their training facilities for over the past ten years or so. Hopefully building an infrastructure that can help the playing staff excel.
