The centre-forward wasn’t included in Hajime Moriyasu’s Japan squad for fixtures against Saudi Arabia and Australia this month, so instead, he enjoyed a few deserved days off.

Avoiding popular destinations among footballers such as Ibiza and Dubai, Kyogo instead headed for the western isles.

Iona is not far across the water from Mull. It is just three miles long and one and a half miles wide, and its permanent population is just 170.

Despite enjoying some peace and tranquillity during his time off, Kyogo still made time to take some pictures with Celtic supporters:

After a deserved couple of days off, the 29-year-old will be back fully fit and firing for Celtic as they embark on another busy period.

Starting with a table-topping clash against Aberdeen on Saturday, the Hoops have seven games across 21 days.

Brendan Rodgers’ men will seek to make progress in three different competitions and carry on their almost perfect start to the campaign.

Borussia Dortmund aside, the Bhoys have been terrific at the start of 2024/25, emerging victorious in every domestic game they’ve played.

The Dons are up next, followed by a hotly anticipated trip to Bergamo in the UEFA Champions League.
