Celtic’s January Plans Thrown Into Doubt

Celtic’s plans to jet off to Dubai for a short winter break in January are set to possibly be scuppered by the Scottish Governments latest lockdown restrictions.

As reported by Sun Sport, with the latest announcement of another lockdown being put in place from Boxing Day, plans to go to Dubai are in doubt with travel to certain countries being banned.

Neil Lennon’s side was set to jet out to the sunny country after the fixture against Rangers at Ibrox next month.

Usual plans would mean a winter break would come into place around that time. However, with the Covid-19 pandemic, the winter break in Scotland was also scrapped.

This forced the Celtic board to ask for a postponement against Hibs as the fixture was moved from Saturday the 9th to Monday the 11th of January to allow the squad to have a few days extra to work on the training field abroad.

At this current stage, travel to the United Arab Emirates is not banned and doesn’t have any restrictions on travelling there but with all the uncertainty, this could change within a matter of weeks which could force Celtic to cancel this trip.
