Celtic’s Incredible Record Comes to Light

Celtic’s 3-0 victory against Livingston meant that the Scottish champions had went over two years without losing a league match at home.

That statistic comes almost a year to the day since Ange Postecoglou’s side skelped Rangers 3-0 in the derby to go top of the league table where they have remained since.

Celtic last suffered a defeat at home in the league when they were defeated by St Mirren on the 30 January 2021 during a season where fans were locked out of stadiums due to the pandemic.

Ange Postecoglou’s phenomenal record at home almost goes hand in hand with the return of supporters to the stadium as since the former Australian bosses arrival in Glasgow he has played 31 matches at Celtic Park, having won 28 of them and drawn three.

That form has also been reflected away from home as the team have shown incredible consistency which currently puts them in a very strong position to go on and win the league title as they have a nine point advantage at the top of the table.

In the wider context of Postecoglou’s league form at Celtic, the defeat which coincidentally came away to St Mirren is the Hoops only defeat in 56 matches.

The Celtic boss has once again made Parkhead a fortress and teams must dread coming to play the Scottish champions.

A huge part of that which just cannot be underestimated is the supporters who continually turn up to back their team.

In stadiums elsewhere in the country, some teams prefer playing away from their fans but that is simply not the case when ‘Angeball’ is on display.
