Celtic’s Glasgow Derby Nightmare at Ibrox

It was a day to forget for Celtic as they fell 3-0 to Rangers in a lacklustre Glasgow Derby performance at Ibrox. Brendan Rodgers’ men were second-best from start to finish, leaving fans frustrated and searching for answers after a disjointed display.

The tone was set early, with Celtic punished for a sloppy mistake. Liam Scales’ misplaced pass gifted possession to Rangers, and Hagi capitalised with a goal in just the seventh minute. From there, the Bhoys struggled to find their rhythm, with midfield battles consistently won by the home side and Liam Kelly in the Rangers goal barely tested.

Celtic briefly thought they’d levelled when Kyogo netted in the second half, only for the flag to go up for offside. Moments later, Rangers doubled their lead from a scrappy corner, Robin Propper pouncing on a rebound. Substitute Danilo sealed the victory with a late strike, ensuring Celtic left empty-handed.

Overall, the team lacked a threat and any sort of cutting edge. Brendan Rodgers made several substitutions in an attempt to change the game, but they failed to turn the tide.

This result leaves Rodgers with much to think about as Celtic simply weren’t at the races this afternoon. A massive response is now needed, both on the training ground and on Sunday against St Mirren at Celtic Park, to ensure this defeat doesn’t derail the season.
