The SPFL this morning announced the Scottish Premiership fixtures for the new 2024/25 season, with Celtic kicking off their title defence at home to Kilmarnock on the 4th of August.

A 4.30 pm kick-off on a Sunday isn’t the most enticing, with the Bhoys then due to travel to Hibs and St. Mirren in the two following weeks.
The first Glasgow derby of the season then takes place on Saturday the 31st of August at Celtic Park. Currently, the game is set for a 3 pm kick-off, but that could easily change.
Then at New Year’s, the champions make the short trip to Ibrox. The game will be on Thursday the 2nd of January but once more, a 3 pm start is likely to alter.
Finally, the third derby of the campaign is set for the 15th of March at Parkhead. Compared to recent years, that is rather early for the last pre-split Celtic-Rangers clash.
In the league against their arch-rivals in 2023/24, the Hoops took ten out of a possible 12 points. A similar record this time around would go a long way in securing their 55th title.
