A report has detailed the sell-on fee Celtic will be due from reigning Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen if Jeremie Frimpong ever leaves the club.
The Hoops sold the electric right-back to the Germans at the start of 2021 for £11m, and the Dutch international hasn’t looked back since.

Frimpong has gone from strength to strength with Leverkusen, making over 150 appearances for the club, scoring 26 goals and assisting 38 along the way. The 23-year-old was key in their invincible domestic season last time out, too, during which they won the Bundesliga title and DFP-Pokal undefeated.
Celtic fans have kept a keen eye on how Frimpong’s career has panned out since he joined Leverkusen, not just because of sentimental reasons but due to financial causes, too.
Indeed, when the Scottish Premiership champions sold the attack-minded full-back a few years ago, they inserted a hefty sell-on clause in the deal, securing future funds if Frimpong ever moves on from the BayArena. Next summer, it looks like he may finally do so.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is showing no signs of renewing his contract with Liverpool, and the Reds, according to MailSport, have Frimpong at the top of their list of potential replacements for the Englishman.
The same report from MailSport claims Celtic would be due 30% of any profit Leverkusen makes on the sale of Frimpong. Given his release clause at the German club is £34.7m, the Hoops could be in line for a healthy £7.1m payday next summer if a move transpires.
Chief Financial Officer Chris McKay and Co. would greatly welcome such a fee entering the Parkhead coffers as a result of some shrewd previous business.
