Celtic’s European Away Allocations; Madrid, Shakhtar and Leipzig

There was much excitement after the Champions League group stage draw with Celtic fans booking up to head off to European destinations.

Due to ongoing construction work at the Santiago Bernabéu it was confirmed by the club last week that Celtic would only receive 1,800 tickets in the away due to the reduced capacity.

it’s not been ruled out that the Hoops will try and push for more tickets and what could be in Celtic’s favour is that the away match takes place on matchday six with Madrid favourites to have already qualified by that point.

Today a further update was given by @CelticFCSLO who said that Celtic were likely to be given 1,500 tickets for the match against Shakhtar Donetsk and 2,300 for the visit to RB Leipzig.

So far, Donetsk have already sold 18,000 tickets for the game against Celtic with the capacity likely to be near enough filled with Polish supporters.

It was hoped from a Celtic perspective that due to the match take place at a neutral venue that the Hoops would have received a higher number of tickets but this is turning out not to be the case.

For the match in Germany, when Celtic previously played there against RB Leipzig further tickets were sold on as a neutral section so it is hoped that the balance could yet be increased.
