Brendan Rodgers, who previously managed the club from 2016 to 2019, is reportedly on the brink of a sensational return to Glasgow.
The Irishman is no stranger to success in Glasow. With Celtic, he brought numerous trophies to the Parkhead cabinet during his first tenure – seven out of seven, to be exact.
As fans wait for an official announcement, MailSport reports engagement had been agreed upon between Rodgers and the club BEFORE the Champions League final. This revelation has sparked further talks with the majority shareholder Dermot Desmond.
Mailsport chief McGowan also revealed that Celtic’s Chief Executive, Michael Nicholson, and Finance Director, Chris McKay, made a significant move by flying to Mallorca for face-to-face talks with Rodgers last weekend.

During the talks, it’s understood that Dermot Desmond gave Brendan Rodgers guarantees regarding finances and infrastructure needed for the club to progress in European competitions. This aspect is pivotal, given Rodgers’ history of ambition and his drive to establish a strong presence for the club in Europe.
The Celtic support is eagerly awaiting the official announcement of Rodgers’ return. His previous spell at the club was characterised by an attacking brand of football, along with domestic dominance. The fans are hoping that his second coming will help the club regain some semblance of European progression.
