Mail Sport Chief writer Stephen McGowan has claimed Celtic have turned their attention to Argentinian Francisco Ortega in their search for a left-back.
It was only last week a deal for Iraqi defender Mohanad Jeahze looked very much on but since then the news has died down on the Hammarby player. The report claims Mohanad is still on a list of potential candidates to come into Celtic this summer.
Ortega, 23, currently plays in Argentina with CA Vélez Sarsfield but is reportedly open to a move to Europe. Celtic have had the player watched and scouted.
Ortega was selected for Argentina’s Under 20 World Cup squad and earned a call-up to the u-23 Olympic squad during his carer so far.

Ange Postecoglou told CeltsAreHere earlier this year that he would leave no stone unturned when looking to improve his squad and would cast his net far and wide to find the best players possible for their Champions League adventure.
This is proof Celtic are really looking to kick on and find gems in all parts of the world.
A left-back will most definitely be heading to Celtic Park this summer to give Greg Taylor competition – but who will it be?
