Celtic have no plans to part ways with Arne Engels this summer, despite fresh interest from Serie A side Atalanta.

The midfielder has been a key performer in his debut season and remains firmly in Brendan Rodgers’ plans.
Engels, 21, has made a strong impact in his first year at Parkhead, featuring regularly across all competitions and chipping in with important goals and assists. His performances have naturally attracted attention, but the club are in no rush to cash in.
The player is also understood to be settled in Glasgow and focused on continuing his development with Celtic.
RecordSport also report that there’s a shared belief between both parties that another season in green and white will be beneficial, particularly with Champions League qualifiers and another domestic campaign on the horizon.
While Atalanta have a reputation for snapping up emerging talent from across Europe, Celtic’s position is clear – Engels is not for sale, and the Hoops are determined to keep one of their brightest young assets for at least another year.
He’s still got a lot of development ahead of him, but there is a lot of potential in the player, and his value could sharply increase over the next few years.
A full pre-season with the manager could be beneficial heading into next term.
