CELTIC are on the chase to add Ben Davies to their squad before the transfer window closes, but to get to that point, a lot has to be achieved.
First, they need to agree on a deal with the player and get a contract signed for his summer arrival. A medical will have to take place in order to make sure the club are covered.
The Hoops would then need to approach Preston again and negotiate a way of bringing Ben to the club this month.
SunSport is reporting Preston will hold out for £2m regardless of his contract situation. If that’s truly the case, we can’t see Peter Lawwell opening the purse strings to push the Davies transfer through.
It would all hinge on Preston taking something for their defender now instead of nothing in the summer. They could see a benefit to keeping Ben in the side for the remainder of their season, even if he is Parkhead bound.
