Vata’s goal for the under 17s was a close-range header, beating the Bulgarian keeper.
In the B side, competing in the Lowland League this season, the player has been a stand-out. The 16-year-old has bags of pace and looks destined to be a star in the future.
The introduction of the player flipped Tuesday’s game on its head. His impact was there for all to see.
The player has been in Celtic’s academy for 9 years, soon to be 10. His father is Rudi Vata a former Albanian internationist and Celtic player.
Vata could potentially be jetting off to America soon to represent Celtic’s under-17 squad in the Generation Adidas Cup, although competing in this means that he would miss the B side’s Glasgow Derby at Celtic Park.
