Celtic youngster Leo Hjelde has been left out of Ange Postecoglou’s squad, which will take on AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League play-off tie this week.
As reported by Sun Sport, the 17-year old has yet to feature in first-team competitive action for Postecoglou, but he was included in the first-team squad for the tie against Jablonec last week.
In recent weeks, heavy rumours have suggested that the young Norweigan could be heading to Leeds United as talks progressed between the player’s representatives and the two sides.
This latest squad news adds another hint that Hjelde could be set to complete his move to the English Premier League side.
He has also featured for Tommy McIntyre’s B side three times this season but was recently pulled from that squad too and replaced by Dane Murray in the last two fixtures.
It remains to be seen when that deal will be complete. However, we certainly feel like we are entering the final few days/weeks of Hjelde short stay in Glasgow.
