Celtic Youngster Has Suffered Since Rodgers Departure

We’ve been desperately trying to find out if an injury was the reason behind Ewan Henderson’s exclusion from the squad on Sunday but haven’t been successful thus far.

However, if he was fit and available to be on the bench then he deserved to be there after Thursday.

The wee man came on for Jeremie Frimpong and had a great game. Showing quick feet and an eye for a pass.

Henderson is certainly a player who suffered from Brendan Rodgers departure. Before he left, Ewan was coming more and more into the fold after signing a three year deal which Rodgers was keen on the midfielder signing.

He played in the game against Hearts when Lennon took over but quickly fell off the radar, only to be seen in cameo appearances. Getting around 60 minute on Thursday night against a good Lille side and then not making the squad for Kilmarnock would have been a blow, unless he was injured.

Ewan has so much potential which could fall by the wayside if he isn’t given opportunities. When you are handed a rare chance to start and do well, you should be able to retain a place in the squad. We don’t need three strikers on the bench.
