Celtic Women are set to embark upon a week that could potentially define their season.
Between now and next Sunday, the Ghirls have three games to play across two different competitions.
First up, Fran Alonso’s side will face Glasgow City this Sunday away from home. The current SWPL league leaders sit eight points ahead of Celtic as things stand.
If the Hoops want any chance of winning the SWPL, they must win away from home at one of the best sides in the country at the minute.
Obviously the Alonso’s side will want to challenge for the title however Rangers are breathing down their necks in third.
The Gers are just a point behind the Ghirls and the fact first and second in the SWPL gain Champions League places means Celtic will want to avoid any drop in league position between now and the end of the season.
After the game away at Glasgow City, Celtic face a trip to Hearts midweek in the league. Yet again, if the Ghirls want to maintain second place or even challenge for the title, they must win.
There is then a distraction from league shenanigans next Sunday. The Celts are once more reunited with Glasgow City but this time in the Scottish Cup at Hampden.
Getting to the final of that one will be the aim for the Ghirls and should they make it, they will face either of Rangers or Motherwell in the showpiece event.
Nevertheless, all focus for the Ghirls right now is on Sunday’s league clash with Glasgow City, ahead of which Fran Alonso will speak to CeltsAreHere later today.
